Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Health & Safety Coordinator based at our Vancouver Refinery. The position reports to the Vancouver Operations Manager. The incumbent acts as a driver of the overall safety culture within the refinery and offices in Vancouver by continuously reviewing, maintaining and improving the Health & Safety program in collaboration with the National OHS Team.
Main Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze work-related risks and participate in the implementation of appropriate action plans and corrective actions;
- Support the plant management team in preventing and solving health and safety problems and implementing the OHS strategy;
- Advise and influence the management team with regard to OHS best practices;
- Coordinate OHS activities such as audits, emergency measures, OHS committee, safety training, etc.;
- Develop and deliver relevant safety training modules and programs that meet legal requirements and corporate policies, procedures and practices;
- Collaborate with Human Resources in the process of return to work and integration programs of new employees;
- Design, review, and update, health and safety programs for the Vancouver plant;
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (or other related studies)
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience of health and safety in an industrial environment
- Computer proficient
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Registered Safety Professional certificate (an asset)
- Experience in an unionized environment (an asset)
