Acadian Sugar Pie

This traditional family recipe has its roots in the French-speaking community of New Brunswick. Enjoy this sweet treat!

Ingredients

  • 9" unbaked Pie Shell
  • 2/3 cup Demerara Sugar (or Old Fashioned Brown)
  • 1/3 cup Milk
  • 3 individual tsp of Butter

Directions

  1. Onto the unbaked pie shell, evenly sprinkle the Sugar.
  2. Pour the Milk over the sugar.
  3. Onto the sugar & milk, drop the three individual teaspoons of Butter in a triangle pattern.
  4. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes. The filling will harden and the pie crust will turn golden brown. Cool well before cutting. Enjoy!
